KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Public Authority for Industry (PAI) Friday stressed the importance of taking part in Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) to shed light on the country's industrial sector.
Speaking to KUNA in a statement on the sidelines of the showcase, Hammad al-Zoghbi, head of promotion and exporting opportunities at PAI, said Kuwait's participation at this showcase aims at encouraging industrial exports regionally and internationally.
The showcase provided opportunities to Kuwait's factories to benefit from the experiments of the companies manufacturing halal products, he noted.
Kuwait's companies and factories partaking in the event managed to market the national products and made several principled deals with some factories and firms of Malaysia and the participating countries, he said.
Meanwhile, Charge D'affair of Kuwait Embassy in Kuala Lumpur Mudhahi al-Fadhli said the PAI's pavilion is one of the largest pavilions at MIHAS.
He noted that the MIHAS is a regional and international event which has been hosted by Kuala Lumpur for 18 years.
He indicated that Malaysia is concerned much with halal industry as it has 295 specialized companies in this field.
MIHAS is being held between 7-10 September that features seven Kuwaiti companies, in addition to others from 40 participating countries. (end) aab.hm
